Airbag vest offers shock absorption "equivalent to seven back protectors"

My racer buddy wears an air vest with a lanyard attached to the bum stop. If he comes off, the vest inflates. Lots or racers going to the full-inflatable suits.

Lets go back to leather helmets and waxed cotton suits.

Great product idea and hopefully the price can come down, although the insurance premium for “product liability” coverage, per unit, has to be - I dunno - 20%.

The Comfort and light weight of this product is a big plus

ATGATT - all the gear all the time

I believe that but don’t follow it. Depends who I will be riding with and which bike I’ll be riding.

If it’s a Norton day, I usually skip the full leathers but I shouldn’t.

I've also been looking at other air vest offerings from Helite and Alpinestars. I'm thinking I should get one for the landspeed racing events, if nothing else.

If I crash, it might well be bcause I was incompetent, but that doesn't mean I should ignore wearing protective gear. The pain from injuries doesn't seem to care if you are incompetent or the best rider in the world. It does't hurt any less if it wasn't your fault.

Only down side I have read bout these new products is that they are hot , no way to introduce air through the bladder .....

Forget which review covered the heat issue , only niggle I have seen in articles related to air bag systems for riders .... mostly all good , eh

If you crash, you are incompetent. Would a back protector fix that ?

That declaration certainly merits a bit more explanation........most if not all of the best riders/drivers on the damn planet have cracked up at one time or another.
Any thoughts on Lewis Hamilton’s incompetence?
