What kind of norton

I inherited a Norton of some kind not sure what it is so I can get started on research and such.

In the meantime do you know the engine and/or frame numbers and the approximate age?

Is it single or twin cylinder?

Dual cylinder 1970 Norton but set up like a chopper I'll try to find some numbers and post pics

20M3/128203 woud make it a 1968 750 Norton Commando, what became known as the 'Fastback' model.

24237 is the usual 750 cylinder barrels casting (not part) number.

It seems to be a 'chopped' widowmaker frame so probably the original as I would expect 128203 to have been a widowmaker.
Engine cradle, gearbox, front Iso. swingarm, rear hub, Z-plates, carbs and a few other odd pieces look like original Commando parts.

It definitely did not come like that. I've seen Triumph & BSA bikes done, but that is the first Norton Commando I've ever seen with a springer & rigid frame.

I am gobsmacked that anyone would have gone to so much trouble to ruin a perfectly good Commando. Some bubbas in a backwoods shed? But as the saying goes, "different strokes for different folks." There are, at least, salable parts.

That's a nice looking bike for sure. I'll take it how it is and enjoy it though. Still a cool bike to me.

Kinda been messing with it. It don't have spark at points atm.

The modification had to have been done before 1974 or so I have pictures of my mom as a kid in this same bike the way it looks. Last tagged in 1984.
