Great video. I like the audible alarm on the oil tap idea, and the Performance Machine brake, It looks a nice conversion.

Hi,
I enjoyed the video.
yes, they are a great looking bike, I’ve always hankered for one.
I must say that when I actually saw one in the flesh, a rather tatty example long after Norton was finished, in midst of a sea of other second bikes in a large bike shop it still stirred my blood. Although strapped for cash at the time I should have thrown caution to the wind and just bought it.
However the quality was appalling with the poorly finished fibreglass pretend tank over an unfinished steel tank, a birds nest of wiring below the instruments and a general look that it was a ‘mock up‘ for a photo shoot rather than a production bike.
I would just love to own one and rectify all the rough edges and create the bike that Norton should have released when it was made, combined with a sympathetic increase in horsepower.
regards
Al

So - it's all a matter of previous points of reference.
If your first Norton was a Commando and you knew nothing about previous Norton's other than a mention of Featherbed frame then you would think after your first ride that the Commando frame was a Featherbed. I did not make that mistake as I knew about the true Featherbed but that does not stop my first ride on a Commando being a real step change from normal brit singles and twins.

Always good videos from Jay, but in all honesty "this was the fastest thing you could get...." Well, hardly in 73-74 Mr Leno. It did pretty well though, mostly because of the weight and roadholding I guess.
