"Besides part of the decals what else is Norton on this Jap-bike?"

Why the RIDER, of course!

I love 'em all.

...I don't OWN some of 'em, for one reason or another, but I LOVE 'em!

Talk about mirror finish! The gas tank will be here tomorrow, we were out to lunch when the UPS truck got here, so they didn't leave the C.O.D. box with the tank in it.

Unbelievable.

I'll be taking the tank down to the painter this afternoon and go over the notes regarding the stripe, pinstriping, and clearcoating...

I did a little playing with iPhoto Express and came up with this:

It's a little hard to get a true feel for the Gold pinstriping, but I think this scheme will be the cat's pajamas...

Super shiny tank, for sure!

Do you need a special primer, like zinc chromate, for painting those stripes on aluminum?

Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Hey, I'm not a painter, I don't have a clue what they do to get it right.

But I know one thing, my painter GETS IT RIGHT!

I look forward to seeing the finished product. Those colors should be great together.

I made a mess of the logo area, but here's an idea (iPhoto Express is not my favorite)-

Are you going to use the tradional pinstrip or wide stripe out line of the area where Norton is located?

Could this be an Evan Wilcox tank?

I'm guessing Tank Shop or something else. I have a Wilcox tank and I waited almost a year for it.

Installed the front fender after blasting the brackets & painting them, wow those things are shiny!

Sorted two stand-off bolts for the front fuel tank mounts, still need to wrap them in rubber tape, strapped down the rear with a giant
Norton rubber band, installed the rear fender, then got a progress shot-

Installed the rearsets, got one more progress shot-

Still need to fabricate the seat bracket, I'm working on an oil tank setup.

GP, Anyone ever use the backbone tube as an oil tank? Should hold enough along with an oil cooler don't you think?

Years ago I fitted mine with a Triumph neck and ran the oil into the frame. It really did not hold as much oil as I wanted and I ended up with a separate custom oil tank and a Pontiac oil filter before I was happy.
