Who sells these Commando fork braces?

This is the bike from the French Yellow Peril team.
Maybe the best Norton racing team on the planet.
They even cast their own cylinder heads.
No fork brace, only a carbon fender.
( Ducati ditto..)
note the twin discs...... ( no forky twisty)

For those who don’t know, that bike Garry is riding in the pic is a Maney 1007cc monster. Garry was pretty much uncatchable when he was riding that ...

Yes, but someone (GP? Jimbo? ) should tell him that he urgently needs a fork brace.
It would make him even more uncatchable, no?..

Let's whack it some more ( blame it on the virus) :
I never represented ANY benefit for a potential buyer to expect from the fork brace I'm CONSIDERING selling.

But earlier in this thread, you said:

"I would think that if the brace is installed correctly, it would be an improvement; after all, that's what they are designed for, and improve every other bike they are correctly installed on. "( quote)

mm..I am not a native English speaker, but I would think an 'improvement' qualifies as a 'benefit' ?

I started to reply and got carried away.

WHACK!

Yes, I said that as a reply to your earlier statement. That is my BELIEF (or opinion)

I did not state that as applicable to the piece I originally posted, or any other. Just a BELIEF that installing some appurtenance in such a proper way as to add structure that DID NOT HINDER correct range of motion would (I believe) be an improvement, however slight.

WHACK, WHACK!!!

Civility still counts for something, we have a word in chiac for people who lack it...

Regarding the topical argument, it seems some have very strong opinions about fork braces (who'd have thunk it?), but posting photo after photo of bikes sans fork brace is not actually evidence of anything, much less the merits (or lack thereof) of the hardware itself.

For example

Herb Becker bike, with fork brace
Who sells these Commando fork braces?

Doug on another Becker bike, with fork brace
Who sells these Commando fork braces?

and another, with fork brace
Who sells these Commando fork braces?

None of these examples actually proves the merits of the brace, they are simply pieces of anecdotal evidence which, absent hard data, demonstrate nothing other than these particular bike's use of fork braces.

Or perhaps someone should just ring up Herb and tell him his bikes would be more "uncatchable" if he just binned those damn braces ;)

Or perhaps Its about giving the rider confidence. For example different riders prefer different tyres....

Well, as a Kiwi I might have to respectfully disagree. :)

SBR make their own billet cases.

acadian:
A picture of a race-winning bike without a fork brace is positive proof that you do not need one to win races.(= evidence)
OTOH, a picture of a race-winning bike with a brace proofs nothing (like you said).
It may well have a positive effect, objective or subjective, but that is only speculation.
In the 80-ties, every car with sporty ambitions had to have a spoiler on its trunk.
Spoilers came and went, and nobody missed them.

"Strong opinions about fork braces.." moi ??
If it wasn't for the OP's repeated demands, it would have ended for me with my first 10 words reply.

Anyway, the weather is nice, lockdown is eased, I 'm out for a ride..

No question that IS the better bike.

After all... it’s not YELLOW....

Serious question: does anyone have any contact info for that team ?
Yes. Tony is the "S" in SBR, and he put my motor together. He also put the motor together for #168.

I can also get ahold of "R"itchie.

The fender mount bit is nowhere near as strong as an aftermarket fork brace. And, I've NEVER seen a straight fender/brace.

While your above statement is accurate from a paper weight standpoint, in application it’s working via 4 little 1/4-20 bolts threaded into aluminum.

As the caption reads - who sells these chromed, steel, double-loop fork braces?

I have one I want to sell (like new), and want to post it at a fair price (below market price).
Anyone???

You might get less doo-dah thrown at you if you put your adverts in the advert section of the forum.

This is a technical section of the forum, so don’t be surprised at the technical replies, correctly criticising your decorative chrome hoops.

I agree with ludwig.

Also, the OEM fork brace is cleverly hidden under the fender, serving double duty as a fender bracket.

yup.

Alas, not just Cdo, many, manybikes have the same thing.

From the RZ350 OEM fender

It's STILL not for sale, and STILL wondering if anyone has seen them advertised...

As to the doo-dah, it doesn't bother me, I grew up on a ranch in south Texas which is basically northern Mexico. i get it from both sides...
