Who else enjoys fishing ?

Have done some shark fishing targeting spinner sharks. 40 to 80 kilos. Great aerial acrobatics from that species. We make sure to never wear them down too much. Get them to the boat quickly and cut the leader. Hooks are made to dissolve quickly

Well the freezer is full of salt ice and bait ...so we are ready to roll over the Christmas break....tight lines

Make sure to take some photos and send them along to AN so I can sit there looking at them and wish I was fishing too.
Aww ya makin me feel guilty now :)

Though not always the most productive time of year... ill try and make you wish it was summer also 👍

What a gorgeous setting worntorn. How is the Pike and Walleye population in your lake? I have friends who fish the Dean every year chasing Steelhead with Spey gear. Tough spot to get into in many different ways.
You live, IMHO, in one of the prettiest places on the planet.
There aren't any pike or walleye in the lake. The game fish in it are primarily Rainbow trout although we also catch some Kokanee in there. For those not familiar with Kokanee, they are land locked Sockeye Salmon.
We usually take dirt bikes up there as well. There are endless logging roads and game trails to ride on.

So you guys bike up there.
Walk out the back door and go catch dinner. Arguably one of the best and freshest dinners in the world.
I wonder if beer might be involved.
Not bad.

We do bring beer but our lady Rancher neighbour serves us wonderful Margaritas in exchange for trout. We usually end up transporting most of the beer back home.

The White pointers return again to a favorite fishing swimming destination from last season..recently (2 weeks ago) data tagged juvenile is currently being tracked (with app) up and down the coast ..I'll stay topsides to hopefully spot them for safe poole camera footage....lol

I had an up close and personal encounter with a Great White while night diving Guadalupe years ago. She just very slowly cruised by, close enough to touch. Probably curious about our lights...and that was it.
I had to ask the other divers in the group if it was a GW as I was not sure.
Those who were close by, including the dive master confirmed it.

They are such beautiful creatures....one i respect very much and now days gladly protected...Guadalupe islands became the cage diving meca in the early 2000's for the not so brave diving enthusiasts like me...lol
If I were in your suit at the time of your encounter my tank would have been sucked empty in no time at all :)

We are currently experiencing blustery north eastlies that bring the rain in to make for crap days for riding and even worse for boating...along with the odd earthquake that woke me again this morning

No cage and I did end up sharing my air with a lady who was new to the sport. She drained her tank very quickly after viewing our "observer". This was a big shark too, maybe in excess of 10 feet. I just remember it took what seemed like a very long time for it to swim by.
It is an encounter I will never forget. Puts things in perspective in a hurry.

(PERSPECTIVE) Very much so ....Yes I appreciate you were not in a cage....and in that case I'd need power heads and two tanks for comfort 🤣
Massive unforgettable experience alright...good on you...
They reckon the odds of being attacked by are shark are about the same as being struck by lightning 🌩
