What's happening at Norton? Sale to TVS, massive investment, new bikes...

The white/blue/red one, a CR to go with my black SP. But the starting price of the LE is far too high imo, which gives a huge final payment in 2 years. Perhaps best to wait to see the new Norton models..

This, on the Judd Racing website, clearly states the offer ends 31/03/25…

I heard my local dealer has sold 51 961's since the pcp deal was announced, that's approx equal to the their 2024 sales. While the 'deal' may be open until March, I wonder if there will be enough bikes to meet the demand?
Good numbers, and they don't have a choice it seems. If they don't deliver then they can always refund or tempt buyers with a 'holdover' for the new model.

Makes sense, clear the shelves of V4 parts. Better assembled into bikes and sold than sat on shelf taking up space and costing money.
my complete guess is that they have sold so many 961s with the £69 offer that they can’t keep up, for whatever reasons, so are regrouping. At least it has got non- Norton people’s attention!

The £69 PCP deal offer was unbelievably good I thought.

Wasn’t enough to tempt me though. Trouble is, I liked the 125 year LE bikes, in particular the Transatlantic and the Manx.

So I was kinda put on the spot when they then announced a deal for the LE bikes. There is only 125 of them after all.

A CR is no good for me (known from previous experience) and there were no Manx SP bikes available anywhere.

I’m therefore quite looking forward to taking delivery of my new Transatlantic SP in a week or two !

Yeah I know… I’m as surprised as you are !

Hello FE , Good for you ! Let us know how this TVS version compares to your first 961 .

Good on yer FE - bit of a shock though; you were firmly in the ‘no camp’! Serious concerns that the primary was still too noisy for your liking - fare enough.

A great deal’s a great deal though!👍

My concern with this offer especially the numbers that have apparently been sold is the dealers getting them serviced in a reasonable timeframe; I can foresee a bottleneck especially for the 1st service and thus frustrating owners. Owners won’t be permitted to service themselves and I also fear every blemish with be insisted upon a dealer repair at considerable cost.

The saying goes; if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. For some that are short of funds and think they will walk away with nothing to pay may be in for a bit of a surprise but I sure do hope not.

Good luck guys and enjoy you new rides.👍🏻

Apparently additional service staff are being hired, but it’s a legitimate concern. Some patience may be required - nothing new there for modern Norton enthusiasts.

The damage is also an issue. The return of the bike will have condition criteria attached no doubt - back to that small print. No way of avoiding stone chips and the ocassional rub. Remains to be seen how these are assessed.

My approach would be to invest £20 in a quality PPF. Well fitted it’s almost invisible. What will the penalty be for stone chips to the forks - who knows.

I’ve got a 15 year old 990 Adv with over 100K on it - still looks virtually new; all forward facing surfaces PPF’d. Long distance (incl off road) trips - add anywhere a strap or leg contact will occur. Expensive paint protected by plastic costing pennies. Overkill or common sense?

Some PPF is a good idea. Wonder if some black wrap would work on those freakin gold forks too?!
It’s a well known finance house that’s doing the PCP and I don’t see this deal being any worse than thousands of others regarding the return. They’ll be getting a 2 year old 4K miles bike back, and that has wear and tear expectations with it.
