I have 2 of these 5/16" BSF Allen screws in their sealed polythene AN bag, so 'obviously' I bought them for a reason, but I have no idea what they are for?

Anyone know?

Or do you know how to work the AN part number system to identify where they are used?

For such questions goto: https://gregmarsh.com/MC/PartsList.aspx and enter the part number (best to either change the dot to a dash or just enter the last four. When it comes up, look at the RefNo, click on Picture and you'll see where it goes.

So far, I have 41 parts manuals entered in that database. Most Norton/Triumph/BSA form around 1964 are there.

It seems AN are now helpfully putting a description of the item on their packets 👍

Head steady to cylinder head screws, you shudda had 3 ?
So they are. I do have two stainless 5/16" x 3/4" Allen head cap screws as spare too. Two, because the head steady I made for my Rickman only has two fitting holes!

Andover Norton have responded and told me 06.7745 are handlebar clamp screws, which they also are, but as mentioned by LAB and Marin Atlas, not on Commandos!

They did not mention the head steady. I wonder which description they would put on the pack?

When you look up a part number at AN's web site, there is no information as to which build group the part belongs. I really miss that. It should be easy for AN to amend the info, I think.
Thank you, Greg, for the work-around.
