I'm going to draw a long bow here and say that this is relevant to motorcycling because I feel that we are rapidly losing our right to take responsibility for our own actions. In this future motorcycles will have no place because they are socially unacceptable. All riders are basically irresponsible and enjoy liberties denied the rest of the public. Left wing or right, it makes little difference, both are becoming more and more conservative. Pressure on governments from powerful insurance companies will result in decisions made that minimise litigation. Political Correctness is one aspect of this and will produce a world that is a mediocracy where it could have been a meritocracy.

Comic genius, brilliant satire, but a past being re-written and a future devoid of those prepared to take a chance. Vale Fawlty Towers. What's next?

It seems the changes were made because it was being screened at 7.30 pm. Let us hope it's not permanent or a sign of things to come. Years ago one of the tv channels in NZ edited old english comedies. Done so they would fit into a 30 minute time slot with 10 minutes of adverts, and carelessly removing some of the best lines whilst doing so.

Best check with the Ministry of Truth and see if the series was actually written at all.

The BBC should be able to fit Quentin Tarrantinos latest movie Django into about 15 minutes then....
