Video of a strange noise coming from the head...

Where do you live? I wonder if someone has a bike close to you that you can listen to.
I'm sure by now you have checked rocker clearance and inspected the oil for bits.
INMHO the worst that happens is that you blow the bike up, the least might be something like valves out of adjustment r the cam flattening a bit.
a couple things that can be hard to find without disassembly would be a broken valve guide or piston slap. Piston slap can go on for years in some engines with little effect.

Yes, I've done quite alot with checking over anything I can think of...No conclusive answer.

Since the sound is so uniform, I would'nt think it could be a pushrod. Unless they ALL got bent :roll:

How tight should the cam chain be? Might this cause a sound? I would'nt think so but....

It's been years since I had a cam chain off but you can get slap from any chain. I'd think it would be fairly easy to check that, usually the manual gives you deflection specs for wear. I seem to recall there is no adjuster stock but one can be fitted. Honda Goldwings are famous for slap from the tranny drive chain.
I bet you've got an owners group down there and up here they are a pretty helpful bunch from what I see. I've seen bikers off to come to somebody's house and help get their Commando on the road.
If you had checked everything and nothing seemed abnormal but consistent engine noise it might very well be normal. My Norton makes a heck of a lot more noise than anything else I own.
It seems pretty normal to me since I grew up with these engines but it sure is a long way in sound from my BMW Roadster.
Too bad you aren't around San Mateo, I'd just have you bring it over to my shop.
