Country flag
It must be Murphy’s Law, but when ever I search for a part and when one finally comes available and I buy it, it’s inevitable that two weeks later, that same part that I was searching for is on eBay for half what I paid for it.

I love the search, I love getting parts which gets me closer to my goal, but damn, I can’t seem to catch a break.

Just venting...

As of now yes - going to the left coast at some point but not sure when - will keep you posted

Any part will come up on eBay if you wait long enough. Lack of patience = $

Try searchtempest.com . Norton, then motorcycle parts for the category. I set it for 2,000 miles, but I'm in the central part of the country.
If you click OPEN ALL it will be faster to go through the listings. If you go on the next day, also click TODAYS LISTING ONLY, that will keep you from having to sort through the listings you have already looked at.
At the bottom of the page is a link to Canadian and Mexican listings.

the law off attraction isn't instantaneous, there's always a time lag.

There have been a few times that law of attraction should have been heeded. One was in 1982 or 83. A Vincent "White" Shadow (F10AB/1A/**** serial number), numbers matching, partially dismantled for $3k US. One of 15 made. The other, in 1985 was 1937-38 Series A Rapide in unmolested and unrestored condition for $25k; in that case, the future wife wanted a house instead. A ridiculous notion. o_O

Yep - that’s why I am investing my life savings in a crystal ball...

Great advice, thanks!

This is ridiculous.

I decided to get what I want when I want and not drive myself nuts.

Then I saw a cradle, battery box, chain guard, fork ears and foot pegs for $25.00.

The cradle, the chain guard and battery box are in pretty good shape everything else is marginal. But 25 bucks!

I know, I know...I’ve moved on...

Oh, a "White Shadow" Vincent! I have to go lie down in a cool, dark room! What a miss. OTOH, the monocoque JPN that they sent to the US for David Aldana to ride in AMA events was sitting outside my office under a dirty tarp at the Norton California office when I arrived there in early '75. I looked at it every day and, when things were running down, I asked if I could buy it. I was told "as an employee, you could offer about $12K -- I'm not sure it would go that low, but you could try." I realized that that was a huge amount of $$$ and walked away with a tear in my eye. How many times have I kicked my own butt and wished that I'd sold about 30 gallons of blood or something!

12 grand...wow...I just looked it up and I saw a sale price of $434,000.

Not this stuff again... I'm too old and broke, and now to suffer another sleepless night with these visions haunting my dreams.... Couldn't you switch the subject to sex... At least there's a chance of that happening. I've been kicking my rear for 50 years over myriad bikes I've allowed to slip by which I knew to be future regrets yet did it anyway.... If I could do things over I'd have them all, but I'd still be old and broke..... Regrets would be gone though.
