Chain Guard Extension: Frustration

got my OE assembly together, but with some difficultly. maylar mentioned a tool siimilar to the lucas bullet connector pliers. similar idea - something like this may work, but for a one time use, most likely, cost prohibitive to buy. automotive brake spring compressor pliers...

trying to jog my memory - seems to me, i installed the spring and buttons first into the plastic extension, and carefully worked that into the chainguard. one of those things you don't pay much attention to when doing, and when you finish, it's forgotten.

The tool you displayed is exactly what was in my mind. I gambled that I could get the spring and buttons installed in less time than it would take to place an order, nevermind shipping time. I lost the bet with the ordering time, but won on the shipping time. The guard goes on the client's Norton tomorrow; one of those things that I have to pay attention to if I want to free up the lift before the snow arrives. I also am trying to finish a '66 Atlas; be very "cool" if both clients rode off the same day...
