Hi looking for some advice on triumph four bolt two and three piece rear hubs for a race bike.

What is the best option earlier three piece or later two piece.

I have seen these two different rotations. Retaining clip to the break side and the screwed bearing collar to the break side.

My bike has three piece rear hub with the retaining collar to the break side however has been wound out or pushed out under load allowing the wheel to move. Makes me wonder if the wheel was spoked the wrong way ?

Pictures show two different rotations
I an curious to understand what is correct and why.

The early rear disc brake Triumph T140 had a three-piece hub with a Smiths speedo drive on the RH/brake side and normal RH thread lock ring on the LH/sprocket side...

...the later T140 also had a three-piece hub (with Veglia speedo drive on the LH/sprocket side and LH thread lock ring on the RH/brake side).

Two-piece is likely to be a T160 hub (Smiths speedo drive on the LH/sprocket side with grease retainer and circlip on the right).

Tks so much for this, My hub hub was set up with LH thread locking ring on the RH/break side. Seems this was incorrect. Have you seen any other situations where this has occurred allowing the locking ring to come undone and the wheel float on the bearing stack ?

A LH thread lock ring on the RH/brake side would be correct. Edit: (therefore shouldn't loosen).
Item 13, Locking ring 37-7055, stamped 'L' = Left-hand thread (or 'LH' on original parts)

"RH (off) side wheel bearing retaining ring with left hand thread as fitted to T140 and TR7 models with a veglia speedo drive."

By chance do you have T160 parts break down of rear wheel similar to other links sent
