TVS Norton's U.S. Dealer / Warranty

TVS/Norton is keeping those details close to the vest.
Although, the new models where developed for worldwide sale, Norton haven't said word one about dealers outside the UK.

Their best bet would be to recruit Triumph, BMW, Ducati, and other major European dealers... Although, I'll bet they'd be pretty shy...

Not too far fetched: HD is taking on water (so to speak) evidenced by a major finger in the eye at Sturgis.

Their cavernous "boutique" shops have plenty of room to take on a second brand...

Considering the internet fanfare around the fact they recently gained a dealer in Scotland, I think it’s safe to assume there’s nothing much to report yet re opening up shop in the US.

I think in their situation right now, they need to have product before they can claim to be a motorcycle manufacturer. We all know that current models are place holders until the new models are introduced. These will be euro approved, so getting USDOT approval should be done fairly quickly. Same for Canadian approval I would think. Finding dealers in the new world will be complicated by SG's past antics, and the 961's history. But like Stu wrote, you have to have the new models. Then, the rest will follow.

Timing is everything I guess - they need to get to a critical juncture at which it’s viable to boost Norton’s profile in the countries they wish to export too, whilst putting in place dealers that are capable of receiving those bikes.

None of that’s gonna happen until they have bikes nearing readiness to market. The main reason they’re holding fire on releasing detail of new bikes I suspect. To build expectation rather than frustration.

Frustrating for some, maybe critical from a marketting perspective. No apparent movement on the export front gives rise to concern for me though - what are they gonna show at the NEC this year!

My commando came from South Bay Norton Matt Capri, which was also a Triumph dealer. My Domi from Indian of Orange County.

A long while back I asked TVs Norton about American dealers and the answer was…..great things to come. Uh huh.

The cafe bike is fading.
The same reason why triumph discontinued the thruxton. The new trend is ADV and desert sled type bikes. The Atlas bikes would have filled that spot.

The lack of sales with the bsa gold star and the new to be BSA victor would probably be a better deal. Problem is, nobody is buying these retro bikes.

They’ll show you new prototypes that won’t be available anytime soon.
I’m still wondering where the v4 bikes are?
How many TVs 961s have sold in the last 3-4 years?
How long do they plan to keep running without a product? I thought this was a motorcycle company? They’re definitely not an advertising company.

The Atlas range of bikes were ahead of their time really. It’s a travesty they didn’t get those on the market in one form or another. They’d have actually led the market.

Voodoo is 100% right, they won’t have anything new you can actually buy at the NEC.

But they can still put a good show on even with pre prod bikes, Garner did just that with the Atlas range!

If they don’t put on a good show this year I think a LOT of people are gonna conclude ‘I’m bored now’…

Agreed - it will be pre-production bikes. Noting that they’ve stated first bikes in 2025, not this year (6 bikes over three years starting in 25). I maybe would have expected to hear rumblings on overseas networks as an indicator of how advanced the bikes are, but we’re not in the know obviously - they could well have reps in-country already doing the groundwork. Or, setting these up is not as time consuming as ya might expect.

There’s been information about bikes being at the development/testing stage in various publications, so hopefully they’re capable of putting forward pre-production bikes. I think they’ll do this - anybody’s guess on type/number. It will certainly be bloody disappointing If they have nothing new to show.

That said, I guess we’ll see them when they are ready. None of us has any real understanding of the time frame needed to bring these bikes to the market - we don’t know what they are, nor any constraints or impediments that might be at play.

I think the NEC will be make or break, there will have to be models that are good looking and sensibly priced that the public can afford and want. If they don't then £130m+ is some expenditure for nothing and the future would be more huge monthly expenditure and more hollow promises. I very much suspect that the more recent staff additions at Solihull know this, and are working hard to get it right first time at the next opportunity as it will make going forward in the future a lot more easy and productive.

In the UK they want to be in premium car dealerships and have turned down HD franchises as a result - I know...spoke to some.

If they apply that methodology to the US they may appear in weird places

They've literally got nothing that they can sell yet in America, or anywhere out of the UK...so no point announcing USA dealers, when they can't put anything in their showrooms.
Do they actually have anything for sale I the UK that you can go look at and buy? I just searched their web site and although the list several sellers, there's no link to any of them.

I’ll bet that any bikes they have on display, won’t be showing any kind of pricing attached.

No Harley dealership is going to sell something other than Harley’s. Besides, Harley dealers don’t have room because of all the gaudy clothing they sell takes up 1/2 the show room.

Yes, my local dealer has several new 961s for sale, and can order a V4 if you want one. They also have demo bikes to test ride. I bought my bike in late May, the salesman said I was their 34th Norton sold, since they become a dealer in late 2023. Based on their FB page they've sold a few more since.
