Thanks. I’m looking into that.If you are running points then the chance is your timing is out by 180 degrees.

Before we can starf guessing, Please tell us a paragraph about your skillset, past projects, etc. It helps us determine a starting point.Ok. Got yesterday’s issues resolved. Tried to start bike today (1970 Norton Roadster). Getting gas, oil is fine. Only a pop from tailpipes. I’ve resigned myself to checking timing, spark and points again.
Anything else I should do...any advice?!
Thanks
Probably. I double checked fuel & spark - both good. I’ve been struggling with timing. I get left cylinder to 28 below tdc (black & yellow wire). Double check that advance unit correctly installed, points gapped. That’s as far as I get. Not sure if timing is correct. Will take primary case off and check timing marks. Will also remove carbs and re check them.I would think that if you have popping in the exhaust you must have spark and fuel which leaves the timing as the culprit?
