Ok guys did a search did get much out of it so here we go!!!!

What brand tire are you riding and why???
How is it wear , handling .........................etc................

I know and read alot on what sizes everyone seem to like but lets see what brand . Reason i ask is i need tires for my cafe rebuild and im torn between Avon Roadrider's or perferable  Pirelli Sport demon ( can you tell i have a sportbike background )

So let get the Opinions flying :D

I have Kenda Challengers on my XS650. They were reasonably priced. I have put about 800 miles on them to date. They are good in the rain, seem to wear quite well. Have good grip and are quiet on the road. I had avon super venoms on my norton the first time it was on the road, I really was happy with them, but they are no longer made. I put a set of the Kenda's on my norton cafe build, should be on the road this year. I have a set of Shinko tires on my combat, so far only 1 mile on them, but again no complaints. I tend to stay on the low end of tire price. I don't rack up the miles and the roads here are perpendicular and smooth.

I know there will be many varied opinions on tires.

I have a pair of AM26's on my MK3 now--only a few hundred miles of use but so far they seem great for my riding style.
Also have used BT45's in the past--they were ok too--no issues.
Dunlop Sport Elites were good too back in the 80's but no longer available. The "original" Sport elites sport compound tires.
Metzler lazer ME33 a good front tire---works well with different rears.

There are many, many choices out there and, particularly, on this Forum. That being said, I think you'll find most folks are riding the AM26's. I love them..no issues what so ever...

I have the Avon AM18's. I just bought a pair of them from my local cycle dealer here in St. Louis for $53 a piece..... needless to say, I was pleased they had them, and the price. :D

Kenda and Shinko are coming up in the tire world, entirely adequate for commuting and moderate risk taking, just not the right tires if you're going to ride "on the edge." IMO Kenda makes a superior desert/hard knobby.

I'm running 17" Shinkos on my CBR1000RR right now; I bought them because they cost less than half the price of the Michelins Power Ones that they replaced and I'd say they are 8s if those Michelins are 10s. I would not buy them again; I can provoke bad behavior from them too easily. Neither would I buy $500 Power Ones again. That bike eats good tires.

I wore out a set of Avon Roadriders on my 86 GSXR 1100; they were unexpectedly competent, exceed my expectations. Better than the pair of Michelin CT2s that I tried next; I should say that those CT2s were part of a proprietary run for some BMWs that came with 18" wheels, not the 17" tire regularly offered.

On my Commando, I did a track day and then on the street wore out a set of Avons in race compounds (AM20? and AM18?) and they were magical, though expensive. For half the price, I just installed a set of AM26/Roadriders - just a few miles so far and they seem just fine, predictable. They differ from the ones that were on my Suzuki which as I recall were not desginated AM26, just "Roadriders" so they may differ in other respects.

I have no recent experience with any Dunlops in the 18" or 19" sizes.

I'm using Bridgestone BT-45s at Matt Rambow's recommendation and I like them just fine. I'll probably try Pirelli Sport Demons next just because I'm a Pirelli fanatic, not because of any complaints with the Bridgestones. I'm running a set of the Demons on a Guzzi Eldorado and they have been just awesome and after 6K miles they don't look worn at all (! - I know. I find it hard to believe also.) PS, about the same mileage on the Bridgestones and they too look like they have many more miles in them. Guess I'm just an old lady when it comes to riding....

Ok cool so alot of different as i thought :D
I thank you all for the input i think with this and the info i got from friends and a Pirelli rep im going to try the Pirelli Sport demon"s for the first round they are Pirelli's vintage size long life tires with the sportbike compounds :D :D :D :D
Ill make sure to report back when i get some miles on them
Thanks
