Thinking of putting a 1200 Evo motor in a Slimline frame

Hi all, I have been thinking for sometime now of putting a 1200 Evo motor into my Slimline frame, there are many built with Iron head motors but haven't seen any with the light weight Evo motor, its just a throught at the moment, but I can't seem to get it out of my head, I have the frame, front and rear end altogether now but haven't started on the Norton motor yet, if I do I don't want to stuff up the orginal frame in anyway.
Any comment welcome, am I mad thinking of this as i have always been a Norton owner since I was 17 years old but in 91 I brought a new 1200 Sportster, first of the 5 speed and belt drive, it was good but not my cup of tea in handling.

Ash - did you ever do that Evo-Slimline?

No was just a thought and brain faze at the time, be Norton all the way, putting an Evo motor in a good Slimline frame be madness as it would have to be cut and mod to fit the motor, I wouldn't do that, be the 650 Domie motor.

I really don’t think that you could find a better frame for the motor. This damn thing has a fire breathing dragon in it, I start it every year and take it out for a ride. The engine has a stage two 1250 kit and the heads are flowed and bigger intake valves. It’s a S1W so it has the thunderstorm cams and the smooth bore Mikuni. I don’t ride it anymore than the short once a year ride as it’s not registered anymore. It’s a shame that they don’t sell well or this one would be gone, they love them in Japan and other places across the pond but not here for some reason. Just the tank cost me with shipping about 1,000 dollars. And when they do sell they are pulling the motor out of them, and that’s a shame in my mind. I’m getting a bit too old to be riding a bike like this. When me and my brother went to buy this bike (he’s the one that got me into the thing) the owner was telling us that he was 61 years old. We both were shocked that he still rode it, I’m turning 65 this summer and an old gray haired man should not be a bike like this. lol 😂

While I found mine to be a tad on the heavy side for this old man it was a torque monster and it was an all day comfort ride on day trips. Parts are getting a bit hard to find and Harley Forgot they ever made the.

They almost had as much torque as they did horsepower, I think a stock S1W's were 100 hp and 90 torque. Coming out of corners you had to be careful with the throttle or the rear end would slide. The S1W had a thin seat that would really hurt after a couple hours. It was about as wide as a 2x4. lol
