The Value of Dyno Testing

Thanks for posting those clips. I particularly like that John Renwick is riding streamliners in his mid-70s when he would be expected to have his pipe and slippers and give up this stuff years ago. And he built this bike himself, in his shed - a masterpiece.

What I like about it most, is John Renwick's expertise with the dyno and computer. In one clip he mentions he was taught about dividing heads as a kid. So I think he must have been a tradesman. His leap to computers would not have been easy. In my own case the two technology situations sort of stayed parallel. I studied science and engineering as I worked in my job, and played with motorcycles in my spare time. I'm wondering whether he built the road race outfit which was campaigned by Nick and Gerry Boret - that was a Renwick.

When you talk about old guys in motorcycling, we have some really great ones here in Australia. There was a 60s road racer who was killed in Europe called Keith Campbell. He was married to Geoff Duke's sister. His nephew is also called Keith Campbell and still rides in out historic classes. The older Keith's older brother is George Campbell who works consistently on his son's 500cc featherbed JAWA. One day George, who must be 90 years of age, got on his son's race bike and rode it faster than his son could.

I have lost over a decade now trying to get my dream machine going so only way to get some pay back is to ride 20 yr into my 90s. I am a missionary on tractioning neck to regrow-recover from injury and head down life style, so my vision so good again do not need glasses any more to read fine print on vitamin lables in so so light and am faster than a snake strike and test that grabbing snakes after teasing them to try to nail me and as strong a grip as body builders. After 120 mph Ninja landing on my head then 3 yr later killing deer with helmet and a few other lesser spine fracturs and head injury I had to go back to 34 inch inseam jeans instead of the 32 inch I had to get about 20 yr ago aged 40s. I once was 6-4 then barely 6-1 but now almost 6-3 again, d/t spinal disc all regrowing 1/16 to 1/8 inch x 24 discs. My ankles and knees and hips have all been shattered to mangles flopping around by skin only but I am world class othropedic-neurologist so way beyond normal medical models so did nothing to the limb injuries but put rubber magnets on with tape or ace wrap to hold joint to body and magnets on and hurt so little I just used the bad joints as could till better than new again, at least twice each on lower limbs. EVERY othe cycle ever fielded requires increasing effort to ride hard BUT Ms Peel which got easier and easier the faster I went and best of all with HI G hook up on over 50 psi in tires. I am worn down after a few hours of road race like play on my girls SV650 or the Ninja or hot rod Harleys but am refreshed and energized going rather harsher around on Peel. One of my goals is riding Peel after dark to out race the quads teenagers going bezerk on THE Gravel when no traffic and to hunt-shoot-video deer hit with paintballs before I get there. I expect to crash and get broken up again as cheap fix but Peel in protected by crash cage. Besides neck stretching regrowing I found taking 2-3 xs the daily label of bone-joint mineral complexes has rejuvenated me so on long getting heart attack like events or acid reflux or fatigue syndrome and surprise the shit out of deer on foot trying to charge and out manuvor them in my yard for 50- yd or more and get breathless for a few minutes walking back laughing at the stupid deer expressions. I never want to be young and stupid again. Believe it or die old frail men as burden on family and others...
