The new shop heater.

The only way to really tell with tubes is by the plate construction. Labels get washed off and relabled as whatever the reseller wants to say they are. Penta is reputable, and the pleated plates look like some I saw with US consistent etchings on the glass.

Amazing stuff for sure but I just stream you tube music on throw away headphones.
...cost effective and I cannot tell the difference anyway.

I burn the money on the bikes instead!

Gosh I was bored on wine stumbled on jims sound system post and others too. Its counter productive to endure the sound pressures of hi powered great fidelity system while working but on the road or stoned after tasks or with a gal hot to trot to dance up into a heat - its hard to beat a good sound system. In Texas home had stadium size folded kiphorn 18" 4ft box sub woofers, 12 inch mid range in 3/4" sewer pipe with 16" wide horns for tweeters, tri-amped filtered equalized. Almost threw out the huge subwoofers supported on bricks but tried one last time with them flat or floor in corners with Dark Side of the Moon, to feel hits in gut with kicten cabinet doors flapping to the hard base, so kept em. My now current wife/28 yrs and I would dance our asses off till exhausted then another thumber hard hitter came on and our feet and hearts would almost involuntary match it to dance again till wee hours.

Me and friends LSD and Mushroom tripped the best on tube amp phono graph records with Advent sealed speakers so could tell the nicer distortion of analog tubes vs solid state digital.

The quickest fastest best handling, even beyond my Ms Peel was my hot rod '78 Chevy van. Sprayed two inches deep woith urothane foam, dense foam padding under 1/4" plywood covered in glued on carpet, so like hitting a solid core door dampened, tri-amped with 2 1000 mds power capasitors with double ought guase cables, speakers in 3/4" glued/screwed wood boxes and heavy sewer pipe mount woofers a contest winning shop I had check my equalization said they never heard such immense sense of sound but for stadium size concert events. A totally deaf friend would exactly match my own equalization settings hearing even the highest freq through pure clean bone conduction fidelity.

Btw for ya car systems besides the subwoofer look into sound tranducer/shakers. Tired one in my pu truck to be pleased by its sense of bass hits to cover sound of hwy speeds over THE Gravel washbords. I'm looking into stereo for Mz Peel as hard rock plays in my head when getting on it. I want competitors to hear me as I pass em to pyshe out like Apocalypse Now.
