TexasSlick

Thank you for posting Jerry. I last talked via text to Robert about two weeks ago and he was hanging in there. I haven’t quite gotten over hearing the news.

Robert helped me tremendously over the last 10 years with sorting my Atlas, sending me nuts and bolts or bits and pieces, drawing wiring diagrams so I could run a magneto on my Domi, and being a genuine friend always available to chat. I will miss him.

TexasSlick was a good man ! He helped me out on more than one occasion … R.I.P.

Very sorry to read this
RIP Robert
Condolences to his family

sorry to hear this. In due course, it would be nice to have a photo of him with a bike.
I too am sadden to learn of his passing. I recall a thread where he posted a picture of himself, with his bike from back in the day. His caption or description of the photo stated that it was taken back when he still had hair and that the girl sitting on the back was gone but that he still had his Atlas. Unfortunately, I don't remember which thread he posted it on (maybe it was on the thread explaining our forum handle or nickname because I seem to also remember him saying that his nickname "Slick" was from college because he was good with numbers/math and not because he went bald). Anyway, I enjoyed his contributions to this forum. He will be missed. Godspeed Slick, Cj

Another Big Name leaves us. Maybe not in the larger world but to us here on the list he was a regular, early member and poster. For us old coots, each passing reminds us of not only our remaining days but just how long
the list has been around.
Hats off, a real biker.

Well this just sucks- I had no idea he was ill . A stalwart contributor to this forum and I always enjoyed everything he had to offer . My condolences to all dear to him - he will most certainly be missed.
RIP Slick .

Here I am in Texas, and I had no clue.

Sorry to hear the sad news; Rest In Peace, Godspeed, Slick.

Thanks for posting this Jerry. So sorry to read it though. I hope it was a painless and peaceful passing.

R.I.P. Robert.

I spoke with Robert a few weeks ago and heard the news then. He had prostate cancer that spread through his body. They could not treat it due to a separate heart condition. Very sad. Take care of yourselves. Make sure you get your checkups. I just did my blood work. All good here.

Jerry

We swapped quite a few PM's over the years on all manner of subjects. He was a very intelligent (but humble) man.

I remember machining a double interference fit top hat adapter over 7++ years ago to suit a new speedometer drive for Roberts Norton Atlas.
No charge of course, but with my address needed on the international post paperwork, he used that to send me two very nice key rings (One Triumph, one Norton) which came as a very present surprise.
A good man for sure and will not be forgotten.

It with great sadness to announce that Robert (texasSlick) passed away on Saturday morning. RIP Robert, we will miss you mate,
That is incredibly sad news. I didn't know Robert personally, but he was a wealth of knowledge and freely shared this. He saved my proverbial a few times on some of his advice. Thoughts and prayers to his family. RIP
