Teflon seals and valve stem wear

Surely no matter what the seal is made off or whether it has springs clips etc, the manufacturer would ensure that the stem seal passes what they think is a suitable volume of oil to lubricate the stem. In which case does matter what type are used.

A lot of engine builders would disagree with that.
