I am trying to find an acceptable path for the Tach cable on a '74 850. I am using stock pipes with a crossover. Looks like if I go under the crossover it puts an extreme bend in the cable. The only other path is between the cylinder fins and the cross over pipe. (pictures attached) I can tie it off so it's not touching, but still it seems very close to a lot of hot stuff. My new cable does have a spring wrap, but not sure this is enough protection. On some photos I have seen, (and not many have crossovers) it comes up like the pictures shown below. Was thinking of coming up with a small heat shield wrap for that localized area. So a question for those still running with a crossover,..how should this be done ?

every 850 with crossover pipe routs the cable the same way as you have

the spring wrap is all the heat shield needed but can't hurt to add some more
