Swingarm Spindle Pricing Differences?

It's not so much that the inner o-rings don't last, but that they do not serve to keep oil in at all, even when brand new. They really are just dust shields and nothing more. As LAB stated, the principle seems to be to add new oil as per schedule to allow bushings to absorb some before excess drools out :-)
 
when i pulled the shaft on the basketcase, i found grease. the fit was still tight, but the shaft had surface corrosion. i had a new shaft made using 4340 steel nitraded. i filled it with oil, as noted it needs to be check because the oring seals inside will never last..

Why would you have a spindle made when they are available?
