Static crank balance what to allow for oil in sludge trap ?

Hi all - although I am a ways off yet , I am beginning to research this . What do I allow for weight of oil in sludge trap ? 600 cc Model 99 .

Static balance figures quoted in the manuals are normally for a dry crank as they balanced them dry at the factory.

From JS Motorsports who balances wet he uses 50g for the weight of the oil.


I doubt the oil in a 600 is much different than a 750.

Fill the crankshaft with oil and see how much it takes.

I suggest that if your balance factor is above 70%, what is in the sludge trap does not matter. You will still be able to rev the motor 7000 RPM, without much vibration.
