You may have seen complete polished stainless rear axle kits for sale. They are beautiful. However, they are listed as correct for 1968-1974 Commandos. They are not. They are correct for the pre cush drive hubs (pre 71?) that use part number 06.0291 rather than 06.2067 for the Brake Drum Dummy Axle.

With a lathe, it could be easily fixed to work in later Commandos, but of course, I don't have one.

So, buyer beware.

Yup , I have Don’s kit on my ‘72 and zero issues , should have been like this from the start ....

Nice to see that, I need to positively I.D. the one I have so I can sell it confidently. Looks like the outer shank on the big bit is longer on
That's one of the two issues. The bigger issue that that the outer flange is too large a diameter to fit into the hub.
