Rather than hijack ARBRNRNGR's thread I am starting my own.

I am considering buying the stainless cylinder head bolt and nut hardware and the stainless barrel to crankcase studs and nuts from RGM. These kits would be used on my 1971 750 SS.
Does anyone have experience with or opinions on these RGM kits?
I guess my primary concern is whether the stainless material for the studs and bolts has the requisite tensile properties.

Thanks,
Ed

I just installed cNw barrel and head SS kit, very nice plus they use waisted head bolts.

Stainless cylinder and cylinder head bolts and nuts

I've been using RGM stainless hardware on my bikes for a few years with no issues.
More than happy to recommend thief stuff.

Some grades of stainless are unsuitable for this application just as some grades of plain steel are unsuitable.
Lots of reputable sources of stainless hardware out there, RGM is one of them.

I'm sure the RGM stuff is fine, most things I've had from them have been. And I've had a lot!

But the ARP stuff sold by cNw is just ultra top drawer!

The best bit about the ARP kit is that it uses small 12 point heads, this makes torqueing them, removing them, etc SO much easier. the stock style fasteners require a bewildering array of spanners, sockets, box spanners etc.

The ARP kit, especially now they're with wasted stems, are a 'must have' in my book!

Ed, steel away (pun intended) - I'm following the waisted bolt topic as well. Fascinating new option(s) that make sense.

I just got my bike back from Matt, among other little goodies we opted
For all that ARP engine hardware, and Eddie is right, they are a must have ...so far as looks go and though I haven't done my first head retorque,it's clear this kit makes servicing the cylinder head much easier ,I've had a wrench on them and it's no where near as conveluted as it is with standard norton hardware
+1 on ARP from CNW
