As I posted earlier my speedo is quite a bit off. 72 at indicated 80, 63 at 70, 54 at 60 etc.
Question is is my odometer off the same amount?
I read that the odometer on most bikes are usually correct no matter what speedo registers.
I'm getting between 47.7-49.5 mpg! Seems high.

Take the bike out on the Interstate, and check against the mile markers. Check over a 10 mile stretch, or more.

The odometer and speedo are driven off the same cable, so the relationship should be directly proportional, seems to me.

I've posted on numerous occassions against popular belief that this speedo is off about 10% across the board. Most owners seem to think that it's only off 5 miles per hour. I think they just don't ride fast enough. Thanks for the backup

You're welcome Britfan60. I felt the same way. This thing is WAY off!
Also TexasSlick you just made me laugh!! I live in RI!! Smallest to the biggest state! I don't think I could find 10 miles of mile markers!!! Lol lol lol!!

When I'm cruising at 78 and only keeping up with average Long Island traffic where the speed limit is 55......the average driver does 65ish.

Yeah. I noticed it when I 1st got the bike. I was doing 80mph & people on the highway in a 65mph zone, who travel 75, were passing me!! I was actually was only doing 72 mph!!
