all that work for only about a thousand bucks (that's the figure I gave to my wife and I'm sticking to it :)

see you in April or thereabouts, God willing

Great news! and your bike looks awesome! I like the painted bars, triple clamps and fork ears. Nice.

thanks, as you can see from the picture , the fenders, trees, and headlight ears were in pretty bad shape, so it just seemed natural to paint them.... I like the overall vibe.

If we had a most improved award that might be a winner.

aww shucks..thanks.............If you did have an award for me it would be a cheap award..... coffee (or bass ale) is my usual currency when favors or awards are doled out :)

I have to tell you........ I just got ahold of an 85 Honda VT500c which, in comparison to the 71 basketcase, is like a brand new bike: It's a honda so it needs some carb cleaning, a couple of cables and hoses etc. and it will run for another 25,000 miles.... I got the bike for 100 bucks and by spring time it will probably be all rigged up for commuting. Shaft drive, water cooled, cheep parts, electric start, 50+ mpg. it's begging to be a commuter.

....... but it just ain't as much fun to work on and ride as Old Strunzo. That is the bike I'm keeping until my body gives out and I can't start it any more, then my son will get it.

thanks again

I like the look, all business, nothing fancy. JUST PURE CLASS.

"Most improved"? It's got my vote!

Maybe Jerry will put up a poll for this award, I think it's a FANTASTIC idea! I'll even chip in toward a decent gift-card award.

I wouldn't sell my Norton but it's nice I can ignore the Hondas and just turn the key.
I hope I can get a few minutes for the Norton today as you have inspired me.
