Hi everyone!
Well, today I installed a new Dave Taylor head steady. I can feel considerably less vibration under 3500rpm, about the same above.
And the handling seems sharper, only had time for 5 mile ride in traffic.

However, I need some help with my wiring.
I have a 73 850. I would like either completely rewire or start cutting off unwanted wires and cables.
I put on a full new Norton wiring harness about 10 years ago.
I disabled and don't care for any of the idiot lights in the headlamp shell.
I don't have nor want turn signals.
My kill button has never worked and I don't care if it does or not.
So, I need a very minimalist wiring setup.
Right now there is a gigantic gob of wiring under the gas tank, and it was difficult to get the tank back on after the head steady install today.
I suppose I could just LOOK at where each wire seems to go, and cut it off if I can determine it it is not needed.
Can anyone give me ideas, perhaps a very basic wiring diagram, link, ideas?
Thanks to everyone here for all the help and advise you have given.
John

There's a "tuning guide" for the ISOs, by rpm, in the INOA guide. dunno how good it is, but if your vibrations don't straighten out until 3500 RPMs, I gotta think you're running at least some of them too tight. Mine are pretty manageable above 2700 RPMs or so. Handling is good. Maybe could be better at cost of additional vibes? I'd probably chance it, but stay where I am on the ISOs to avoid excess vibes to the frame. Cracked frame, no good!

Not that I'm an expert by any means, so please take it for what it's worth!

Hi I can PM you a Workshop diagram complete with what I have removed over the years..but first what is your ignition system do you have twin coils or a dual output coil...I would keep the kill button its basically 1 wire. Do you want the 2MC Capacitor fitted...Do you want the Assimilator Warning Light Do you have a modern powerbox (Regulator/Rectifier fitted) 3-Phase Alternator? ...Do you want to lose the Charging Socket.?

Cheers Paul

The kill button is mighty handy if you should ever have a stuck throttle. A shut off switch is even better.
