Sidecar install on 750 Atlas

Got my "side car install kit" from fleabay today. Universal kit so I didn't think for a minute it would fit right up. All in all very useful kit, $159 free shipping! Some were to long, one too short but they give you plenty of material to work with. The front top mount was a great fit' plenty of room and wide angle. I'm assuming the wider the more stable?!? Rear mount I'm not happy with, weird angle and can't seem to get it better unless I weld a lug to the frame, trying not to do this. Front Z mount is still uninstalled and in question?!?!?!
As to what dimensions I used, is a mix of all the info I can gather. Most instructions say some adjustment is needed after riding with a sack of feed in the side car!

Took it down the road today, it's like a scary carnival ride! LOL Put it the basement and ck'd dimensions to find a lot changed when I put the weight in the car and my ass on the bike seat. Made adjustments , added 1 inch of toe in, raised the rear of the car. What a difference! I'll leave it alone till i get the new tire from fleabay next week.

I agree with the description. I had a 1951 BMW R51/2 with a Steib sidecar that I imported from Athens Greece. The brakes and suspension were marginal riding solo without the sidecar. It shook badly on bumps and swerved at the suggestion of braking (which is all it had anyway). I remember when I had a friend riding hack and was pretty spooked whizzing closely past the parked cars until I remembered to move over a bit. Best of luck, I'm sure it's better than mine was. I rode it around Athens for a few months then shipped it home to CA.

Getting things better every day but also finding new problems. AN offers a 19 tooth front sprocket, something smaller would be nice. Anyone have a used but not worn out , 17 or 18 tooth sprocket I could purchase. Thanks

More toe in and went for a ride, best one yet! But I had almost 3 inches of toe in. After some conversation with a couple people they gave me a number of a person in up state PA. He thought with that much toe in the sidecar needs moved back a couple inches. Sooooo I tor it apart and moved it back 2 inches and changed toe in to 2 inches. Immediate difference. It steers to the left easily but steers very hard to the right I believe I still have to much toe in and plan on changing it tomorrow hopefully no rain!

I may have not mentioned I was given the original instructions for this car. The instructions state the sidecar axle center should be 8 to 14 inches ahead of the bikes rear axle. It was at 11 inches and now is set at 9 inches.
