so my project has a Dunstall tank and seat on it. I hate the dunstall seat. it will be for sale on here shortly as soon as i replace it with something else. I am trying to figure out what i'm going to do for a seat. I like the manx style but from what i can find no-one makes a direct bolt-on manx seat for the commando. I believe none of the factory style cafe seats will bolt on because the mounting brackets would be in the wrong spot due to the extended length of the tank. So right now i'm thinking about a universal manx style seat pan custom mounted with a custom seat. Anyone know of any better solutions?

You can always change the mounts to fit your bike, I run a Interstae seat with the hunp at the back (solo seat) on my Wideline featherbed and I changed the mounting brakets, its not hard to do, got my seat from Burtons British Bike Bits in England, very good to deal with and fast service.

thanks, i checked the differences between the interstate seat and the roadster and it looks like the interstate seats will be a lot closer...maybe even match right up. From what i can tell in photos...the interstate tank and the dunstall tank are approximately the same length.

I have both a dunstall tank and interstate seat for sale. I can throw them on my bike and take a picture for you so you can see the fit of them together.

Of coarse it depends on witch Dunstall tank your using too unless they are all the same leangth as there are at least three style if not more. Check out the seat mikegrey660 had made in the post from last week about Even Wilcox tanks, I like it a lot & I think he said he took a stock seat & reshaped it. You could do this too & that way it could be shaped to fit the tank any way you want. Please post some pictures when you get it done.

thanks, I was worried about the seat looking too long but i think it works. I think i'll get the cafe interstate seat and see if i can't make it work. also your front end looks awesome

Thanks. It's a RGM alloy tree, Tomeselli clipons, Lansdowne kit, RGM single disk kit with dual hub, Hyde fork brace and my own external spring setup. I'm finishing up the wheel soon so I can get it back on the ground.
