The Interpol tank radio slot makes a good space for a tank bag, I line them with waterproof cloth first but here is one before I installed the liner.

And another tank with liner and tank bag.

While you're thinking about the switch, also consider what a little over 18 pounds, 3 extra gallons of gas, high up on the motorcycle will do to handling if that's important to you.

I did the conversion in '84 to my '73 roadster. For long range riding, 500 plus miles a day, it worked out really well. Prevents panic searches for gas stations in sparecly popultated areas. This bike is long gone...enjoying my '72 combat roadster these days.

I agree with the comments on the Interstate tank and seat changing the riding position. I'm "inseam challenged", and my Interstate seat has a height that you really notice when you switch to a roadster. I've recently acquired an original paint candy red tank and MKIII roadster sidecovers, and I'm going back to roadster which my MKIII was when I got it. Not going to part with the Interstate equipment, since I'm prone to change my mind.

Is that your oil filter sticking out behind the Z plate?

Why didn't you put it in the stock position?

The bike never had a filter originally. I rode around a while with just the stock screen 'filters' but after reading posts about the poorly filtered oil, I decided to add a nice filter........the problem is the early bikes are drilled for the filter adaptor head. I wasn't about to tear the bike apart just to install a filter.

I've made several mods including the interstate tank (I hate going to gas stations) but nothing that can't go back to stock easily.

Aaron, is that the "stock" Corbin seat, for Roadsters? I.e., will a Corbin seat that works with a Roadster tank also work with an Interstate tank?
