Bryan Tryee, invented the front breast link, helm's radius rod, to solve the rain groove hunting on then available center groove vintage tires on Calif free ways. Easiest link to fit and gives more ease/stability than common link head steady. Comnoz saw the wisdom to do one of his own.
My sense is wider tires, grip more, right up till they don't more suddenly than narrower, so unless a maniac traction tester, the skinnier the tire profile, the more accurate the handling and warning - ease/chance to recover over doing it. As as never hear any one mentioning tire sounds or sliding front on joy rides - likely don't matter a whit worth what ya fit as ain't got a good enough cycle or skills to even appreciate various tire combos features. Of course those not ever needing survival level braking, ALL say fit smallest tire on front for best ease - steering faster into unexpected brake needs. If too easy to spin rear in turns fit a bigger tire, if not, enjoy heavy hiking boots heavy duty sluggish security.
