RIDE TO WORK - Last Friday Every Month

Prompted by a thread asking if you have seen a 961 on the road, how about trying to get all 961 owners to ride to work on the last Friday of every month? If you no longer have to work you can get out every last Friday just for the fun of it!
Just a thought and it might catch on!
Can’t see a reason not to ,already been out & back today,no pics today as went to places of underwhelming & limited appeal( Greasey spoon ) & of course the 30c plus temps a tad too much in traffic,so pics of better background drops next month

Great stuff Mark. It's not always easy for some - just trying to create a bit of a habit that may promote the bikes and make riders have a great start and end to a working day.

I have been riding my 961 exclusively for the past 8 weeks in an effort to flush out any gremlins (as I've read about) that may be lurking. Over 3100 miles now and nothing has come to light that can't be rectified by proper procedures noted here. ;)

Makes a great little commuter bike - gets me to work every day! I now have my bar end mirrors pointing down so 'filtering' through the traffic is a bit easier at the expense of a bit of visibility. Popped into Mutt Motorcycles in Brum the other day and was told that I'd been seen riding around the area so I'm definitely doing my bit for the brand. Just make sure you are advertising on your bag/jacket so everyone knows what it is.....

“Is that a Norton ? ,what year is that ?,I didn’t realise they still made them “ sound familiar Clive

I like to string out a nice long answer along the lines of...

“Yeah well...

It might be old tech today...

But back in the day...

Back when they were new...

Back when British Motorcycles ruled the world...

Well...

You know what...

They were f***ing shite....!”

Yes. But they were still F***ing cool. My Tr6 was cool, but shite. 2 friends MGBs are cool, meh. I don't own them so so what? Cool junk. No offense, mates. At least your all cool.

I get a lot of the year and I didn’t know they still make them. I also get is that the same company as computer virus software. Seriously. Ive had it so many times its no longer strange to me. Or sometimes i get, doesn’t norton make sandpaper and grinding wheels. Lol

Well...
Still on holiday (teacher, long holidays; 9 - 3:30 workday, easy life...) but will definitely be out on Friday. Don’t work Friday anymore ( even easier life - part time :)) but commute by bike so the 961 will be out there.

Well done to those who managed it...I had a great 65 mile ride in and ended the week by cruising round the jams....maybe we should do this every Friday!?

Since a long long time rainy here in Switzerland. So no 961-commuting today...

Aside from being busy caring for a hospitalized buddy's pets, apartment and him, I have no interest in riding or working on my bike in mid to high 90's F temps with high humidity. Sweat pouring into my eyes. That's not fun. No way do I want to wear gear in this heat. Below 85, maybe. Mid 70s is perfect.

Use mine everyday to go to work, why wouldn't you.
Through the summer months anyway.
KLX 250 the rest of the time come snow , rain and wind .
Why wouldn't you, bikes are best .

Mark, you have to have a ride out soon around uppingham, oakham, medbourne etc, wait till you hit 600 miles otherwise you wont keep up
