Just had 5 star service from RGM Motors (www.RGMMotors.co.uk) based up in Cumbria. Having followed the various posts on kickstars, and found that Swampy's (1971 Hi-rider) cheepo standard looking ebay one was difficult to use and tended to bend and hit the silencer, I ordered a RGM T160 style one, with the straight shaft and bottom hinge. It arrived this morning - Tuesday - very good going. It came with fitting bolt and rubber, and has an excellent finish. I fitted it with no problems, and it has made starting Swampy 100 times easier.
Usual caveats apply - I've no connection with RGM Motors but am a very satisfied customer, both with their speed of delivery and the obvious quality of the product.

Agree, myself and others who fix up Commandos as a hobby and to help out mates find RGM straight forward, fair prices, good delivery and no BS. Any vendor who has machine tools is going to know more about parts specifications and quality than some of the trumpet blowing retailers who don't care much about the fit and finish just so long as they can sell the stuff.

Yes they are very good & super fast, I,ve ordered parts at 15.30 in the afternoon & still got them next morning. The only reservation I have, when I first got my bike last year & started buying bits, I needed a prop stand (74 850), They told me they were having a pattern made & they would be available in a few months time, they then told me I would be unlikely to get one from anyone else. Of course I got one off the shelf from Norvil. so I thought that was a bit un called for.
But other than that I can't fault them.

What they meant was that if someone didn't have it in stock then most likely it didn't matter who you ordered it from as they tend to have the same suppliers.

They obviously can't see the stock of other dealers, so if Norvil happened to have one laying around you may have lucked out.

I am a great fan of RGM and get a christmas card from them every year!

I have recently ordered a silencer for my ES2 on Thursday nite(New Zealand time) and it arrived Monday morning.

Amazing how things can whizz around the world these days.

cheers

Just curious, what was the shipping charge?

That's a good question....

71 pound for the silencer and 50 pound to get it here!

I will post some pictures when the header pipe is back and I get to reassembling it.

cheers

I to have just been comparing RGM and one of their oposition. wanting front and rear iso kit for the 70 that i am building and noting that the opposition had part kits on ebay, in the end i am able to land the two kits in New Zealand including freight for under what the oppostion had asked for the two kits. i was also looking for a side stand but RGM could not supply at present.

Add me to the list of satisfied customers. I ordered a kick-start lever on a Sunday and it was delivered on Thursday, THAT is fast!
