Yes it clears everything by a country mile. I just wonder if it will be awkward to kick. The project is a Norton in a Trackmaster frame with no center or side stand so I have to straddle the bike and kick it. I wonder how easy that will be.

I see what you are saying
I'd give it a try first
Easy to tweak it in a bit with an oxy acetylene torch
Interesting project,do you have any photos?

I bought one recently for a project, haven't tried kicking it yet. It's kicking position is way away from the bike which seems awkward. Any opinions on this? I am thinking of heating and bending to make it closer to the bike but the footpegs and mufflers have not been constructed yet.
Use it first it might seem further away from the bike but its not to bad kicking it and with the longer swing makes kicking a lot easier so really like anything you have to get use to it and you will be very happy the way it is, I never use side stands or centre stands to kick start my bikes, never have and never will in fact I don't have a CS at all, with my JH maggie my bike starts on 1/2 a swing on the kicker every time with the longer KS lever.

You'll be happy to know that I have a JH mag on the Norton. I've had this for a long time and always wanted to put it on the street. However, I've decided to use it only in perhaps three places. One is the Oregon dunes and ride-on beach. The next is the alvord playa or dry lake or desert in SE Oregon, a 12 mile by 7 mile dry lake bed. It has a set of R6 forks and the only brake is the rear. The brake is disc of course but hand operated on the left handlebar, cable going down to the master cylinder.

It is not awkward to kick at all.

The only awkward bit is that if your foot accidentally comes off at the bottom of the kick, the lever sometimes can hang up under the exhaust.

Does anyone have experience with the RGM folding kickstart with rearsets and a reverse shift lever? You can see in the photos that I am using the reverse shifter in order to have a 1 down 3 up shift pattern. My concern is that the unfolded kickstart lever will interfere with the shift lever. Or perhaps I can install it at such an angle that this won't be a problem?

The RGM kicker is a nice upgrade, especially if you have a higher compression engine and still fit in your high school jeans......
I found that the folding arm was not machined correctly and did not stop at 90 degrees, an angle which gives you the best kick. Instead it over-rotated and the rubber tended to get kicked off. RGM sent me a new piece (twice) and that problem was solved.
As was mentioned, there is no detent or spring to keep the kicker from rotating out while you are riding. You have to tighten up the bolt once in a while to create enough drag so it stays folded up. It's too bad it wasn't engineered a little better.
Has anybody come up with a retrofit to solve this problem?
