Top man, many thanks Kommando.... as the old saying states a picture is worth 1000 words

Do you still need to plug the small holes or does this help resolve the problem by itself?
Pete

I would definitely give it a try without plugging the two 1/8 inch holes. I didn't think of effectively lengthening the damper rod until after I plugged one of the holes in each leg with a rivet. It would be interesting to know if this works. If it doesn't work then start plugging holes. Let us know.

Best way to test these sizeing's is to assemble the the forks with oil but no spring, you can operate the fork full movement and test the bump stops, operate it enough to get it primed before the final test.

Not done it as I now use Showa 20mm shim cartridges in my forks, but it makes sense as do all the other mods on that site, each one has a different return for the effort and this one is high on return and not much effort.

I overhauled the forks at the beginning of the year and fit the extended RGM bushes with a new damper rod valve. I fit the valve with closer tolerances. RGM sell two valves with different diameter. I don't have any topping out since.

It's worth mentioning that the extended bushes are turned out of solid brass. Whereas the oem bushes are made out of oilite. The oilite bush with spacer is probably the better solution.

Where are Oilite bushings & the spacers available from please??

I take it then, its either covenant spacers or longer top bushing... and not both together??
I would appreciate the operational views for both.. if only one of them can be used

Thank you
