The big top through bolt has the ability to seize in the casting (steel in alloy + salty road muck) ,that's likely why it has that clearance. This when seized can fool you into thinking you are actually moving the box with the adjusters as the box will twist in the frame. If you do fit a bush then a grease nipple would be helpful. If you only ever ride in Calif sunshine or polish and don't ride then no need.
