The first time I tried to work on my Norton using the official workshop manual I discovered that I didn't speak English. That was 1976 and not only was I not very experienced as a mechanic, I didn't have a lot of experience with different forms of the language. I am grateful that after 40 years of Monty Python, travelling, wrenching, and life experience I can read the manual and understand what is being said. Rule number one on working on the Commando. Don't break anything. Better to ask and get blasted than to need to buy parts because you did something in haste. After you have worked on these bikes for a while you will find they are easy to figure out (mostly).
Welcome and good luck.
