Hello,

Ollie has front sprockets in a big box in stock.
I have bought one for 65.-€ include taxes.
From the rear sprocket he has also in stock.
Golden or black, 48-51 tooth.

Cheers
Very good news ! Ollie Thiel is top notch.

So,
I’ve reached out to SuperLite
They make superior products and are popular with Ducati and other brands. Currently they don’t offer anything for Norton’s.

They are willing to offer or look into producing a rear sprocket and Cush drive rubbers / urethane for our 961.
Only problem is, they need a rear sprocket and Cush drives to go off of. I’d like to supply them with new ones to go off of.

I’ve tried Norton but no luck. Can anyone help me here. If you can point me in the direction to quickly purchase a new rear sprocket and Cush drives or if you have some to sell I’ll gladly buy them as long as they are new and unused.

Thanks.
Scott ,did you PM me ?

Bikes literally done 3.5k klm's, Tyres were dated 2014, a bit old so all this cush talk I decided to replace whilst getting new tyres.

Found the original ones all with similar wear.

Difficult at first to get in, ended up plasing them on the bolt then using mallet suprise attacking them into position.

Actual improvement noted, when pulling from low revs used to stutter in the backend as the torque was pushed into that hub, now it feels "solid" no stutter/shudder feeling.

Guessing as they are not as soft.

Forgot to add to this, I had an update email from Talon the other day. States a MOQ of 2000, but I'm sure they told me 1000 last time I spoke to them. Eitherway, still none in stock. Odd. Kicking myself that I didn't buy more in when I could. Given I was ordering them every few weeks, they could have given me some warning

"Hi Stuart,

Unfortunately we are struggling to obtain the Cush rubbers, we have to order in batches of around 2,000. Due to the low demand on these they would need more order to be able to order these in.

I do apologise about the inconvenience on this.

Kind regards"

That's a bummer. Even if we could organize a group buy that is a lot for a minimum order. Time to start looking elsewhere methinks.

If I read this correctly , TALON must order QTY. 2000 to get them in. They are looking for a larger order demand before they will purchase these . So , if every one of us commits to purchase qty 10 , how many of us are willing to commit ?? If we can get 20 members , that would be 200 so TALON might go forward . Some of us may buy 15 etc.. So put me first on the list Stu , for qty 15. !

TonyA - 15

To fulfil the order, it would be 400 sets.
I'll email back, see how far off the MOQ they currently are. Would love to know who their supplier is

Put me down for 10 (2 sets) - BritTwit.

Sorry for the slow delay back.
They said they require 2500 Cush drives as a minimum order. So I guess that’s out of the question. Unless the stock Norton ones are the same size as another brand of bike.

Is this for a TALON order ?

Seem to remember looking into this a while back and there was a company who could extrude tube with a relatively low tooling cost; see if I can get more details. Pity can't 3d print - the new new printers use a liquid and lcd panel system - I know someone about to buy one so will make enquiries about materials.

Just found a company called Sculpteo who do rigid and elastomeric PU 3d printing - just need a CAD design.

I would have thought the easiest option would be to find some suitable material in bar stock and simply machine them ?
Of course turning a material such as PU is tricky - easier to use some sort of cutter; there is a company, as an example, called camthorne who sell PU sheets of various thicknesses and Shore hardness (see old postings suggesting shore80) which could be used to cut cush drive rubber rings? some sort of rotary cutter?
