Rear shocks ? (2018)

FWIW re Maxton shocks for potential US or Canadian customers: I was curious about their shocks and contacted them today. Richard at Maxton advised they do not currently ship to or sell in the US due to liability issues. Allthough they hope to resolve this in the future, they cannot currently obtain product liability insurance for the US or Canada.

Bummer !

I would have thought that product liability issues would only affect retail outlets who were on-selling. If you buy online and have an accident due to a component failure can you sue across international borders ?

I'm searching for the Fournales for my Triumph Rocket. Still scarce in the US.

Has anyone tried Ohlins on the Commando back end?
Readily available but lots of $

I think @lcrken and @p400 have.

Doesn't Ohlins make a preload and rebound damping version that is cheaper than the compression, rebound, and preload adjustable units? I was about to buy some of the fully adjustable units but couldn't make hide nor hair out of Dan Kyle's website with regard to Norton motorcycles. I should have called but got the Cafe Racer Suspension shocks instead. No complaints other than they sell mostly to road racers and the suggested springs are just a little stiff on typical surface streets. I should have insisted on the lighter springs for a street bike. They can still be purchased and shipped to the USA I believe. Shipping has gone up though, so I don't know how affordable they are anymore. I got the GS03 AR for the adjustable length feature.

Check out what they sell. http://caferacersuspension.com/shocks.html

I think Dan Kyle's business is still up and running after his passing. https://kyleusa.com/about-us

Wilber's / NL make some decent twin shocks also. ($$$)
