Rear Iso Stud Length

Any idea why this is so long? I know the stock Z-plates are a little thicker, but really that much?

Also why would the threads be longer on one side than another.

I measured it inaccurately at about 13in which seems correct.

The length relates to the standard forged Z plates and the standard stud has to be shortened when used with Norvil type dural plates.

One end is threaded longer as the 'adjustable' end but quite how one controls which end tightens when the locknut starts to bite, I don't know.

Ah, the old Production Racer instructions I have don't indicate that you have to shorten the stud. No big deal. Thanks.
