I appreciate your comment on my design of rack. I'm suprised not to have seen on the forum other peoples attempts on the same concept as it is so simple & practical.
Dont you just hate arriving at a camping weekend & after unloading, having an ugly carrier bolted to the bike spoiling the look of your beautiful bike.
I have been thinking of a modified version that converts into a camping chair when off the bike That would be really good!

One of my Mk 3s had a bent down rear loop when I got it, I used a piece 4x4 and bent it back up, with no damage. The guy I bought it off had a very very heavy wife and I was sure this is what caused the frame to bend. I made extended top shock bolts to bolt a luggage rack to, with some grab rail clips as support further down the loop, and tubular supports down to the Z plates. I've carried a lot of gear a long way like this, but the weight over the rear wheel destroys the handling :shock:

I have some of the extra long weld in braces for the rear loop water jetted out in .060 amd .090 steel stock. Just PM me.
