Guys, what are my options for a nice rear brake plate?

I have a newly rebuilt rear wheel (original 60s/70s new old stock hub) which we have polished up and mated it up to stainless spokes and rim (stainless Devon rim).

It looks beautiful, but is now being let down by the grubby black painted brake plate.

I think this must be an original, it is steel, and has rust bubbling through, so am ready to replace rather than try to refurbish it.

Is there a nice alloy option which we can polish up?

It's a cafe racer project, so am not looking for originality!

Thanks!

Madass, on this list, sells, or did, a alloy back plate.
It is not cheap. You could have it powdered in
any color plus what looks like chrome.

this one $250 + shipping, cast alloy, polished, lever is a polished stainless replica.

+1 on the Madass alloy plate. I did mine like this for the black bike i'm building.

Nothing wrong with just powder coat, unless you want the bling. The early ones look good with the black painted chain guard too.

I have one of Don's for my CDO-project, I am going to "customize" the plate a bit.
