Hi all,
I recently purchased a 7/8" reamer for the cam bushes for my Commandos. My question is what other reamer sizes are necessary for routine maintenance/rebuilding of Commandos? Thinking about swingarm, gearbox etc.
Thanks,
Ed
I feel neglected....I have been deprived of playing machinist.
Other than valve guides and swing arm once... in over 30 years I have never reamed a norton bushing.
Prep by cleaning, deburr, and press not bash to install.
Not necessarily, there are a few on this board who have fabricated alignment jigs. Timewarp and Jim S come to mind, I have my own but no pics at the moment
you guys are better than me ,I bought a fine grit ball hone, made a half key and fitted the alternator rotor to a light tap on fit. Valve guides are a specialist's job , I farm those out. Cam bushings get the slit ended wooden dowel in a drill fine wet/dry sandpaper treatment.
