Racing 2022

The rest looked OK, even the black coating on the pistons was still there.

I dressed the damage and refitted the block, seems ok. I did locktight the grub screw when I fitted it so I am guessing this may be another effect of the Darley overheat last year, I have put it back in with high strength locktight this time. I will post a pic when I get in.
A bloody good catch then mate !

Onwards and upwards…

Dare I ask how the easy2 is progressing …?

Hi Ralph
Thanks for your wishes. I've cods up booking the meetings. David & Serena are full time filming the proms & we are now baby sitting the Little ones & taking them to the CBTV kiddies prom on Sunday! So Pembreys done for lol.
And Anji has just kindly told me I'm the reserves reserve. Well I will be moved up to reserve if anyone drops out.
Pembreys a choker as I was looking forward to it but we have moved on & it's time to make some plans.

I have the JS parts in my 750 and it has gotten a little noisier over time. It has seen some high revs, but nothing like racing. It does get plenty hot as well. The set screws are still tight though. I think I may have used some not so high strength blue loctite, but I know for sure I Q-tip dabbed Black brake caliper paint over them and the little bit of exposed threads. A suggestion was made to use another set screw up against the one holding the block in place. Have not tried that myself, but an interesting idea.

Since I have to guess that you are always on the throttle hard, where or when did you notice the noise in the power delivery? Getting off the throttle, under hard acceleration, or idling in the paddock?

Always the same isn't it, when it goes wrong it proper goes wrong. I won't be doing Donnington, I was pissed at them for not having a tanoy that was fit for purpose and the at the CRMC meet at Cadwell the other day there was a county power cut which affected the circuit and it turns out they don't have backup generators for the circuit. and this a place where they run BSB rounds, the racing didn't start until 14:00. Not good enough.

I was wanting to go to Pembrey. But from doing nothing to two consecutive weekends was pushing it. Then when I decided grandchildren & proms I find I'm the reserves reserve. Best bit is nobody's doing Donington! I'm on me jack lol. Mind you I will roll it on to Croft lol

I am not doing Croft either, sticking with the BHR this year.
