Can individuals in places other than the UK buy direct from Andover Norton International or can they only go through distributors? Likewise can those living in the UK that phyisically go to Andover Norton International buy directly without a distributor?

Two years ago I bought a lot of parts from them, so I assume that you still can.

I can't remember for sure, but I think I used to place the order on the web site, and then rang them to give my bank details. Possibly the web site wasn't secure?

They were very reasonable on postage then.

UK customers certainly can buy direct from Andover Norton via their website, I have, and as far as I know they sell worldwide (as they list currencies in Euros, US Dollars, Yen and AUD as well as GBP).

It certainly doesn't say that you can't buy from overseas: http://www.nortonmotors.de/ANIL/Norton% ... te/norton/

Yes you can, Just be sure to put a good size order in as the shipping and fees they add for customs can be a bit much. I know because I ended up placing a few orders and would have saved a lot on shipping if I had done them together.

I have bought stuff from them directly in the past. I am in Southern Cailfornia. When I dealt with them they were part of the BSA Regal (is that right?) group. Now, they're part of the Norton group. But, I wouldn't think that would make much difference.

If I remember correctly, they weren't very communicative, but the stuff showed up, so that's what's important. I just bought online with a credit card. No problems.

Yes you can. I am in the process of making a purchase now. How it works is that you will order what you want from their site. You will not receive the requisite page where you enter your credit card information. This is because they are not set up with the proper security software to make that transaction. You will instead receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. Call or fax them with your credit card information with the tracking number and give it to them directly. I say I'm in the process because the part I ordered won't be available for a week or so. I haven't received the whole bill yet including shipping :? , but I will say to this point it's considerably less costly than buying domestically. Maybe it's the exchange rate right now, I don't know. Nice folks, though.

I bought most of my parts from them, Nick is very helpful and shipping is actual cost. No reservation recommending them, unlike another that other UK outfit that likes to advertise heavily.

Hehe, I have to agree with Fastback....they're as unhelpful in the UK too, either Mick Hemmings or Andover are much better
