Problems with inner race bearing removal off an 850 Mk3 crankshaft.

Seems almost counter-intuitive; clamping down enough to get a good purchase would seem to bind it to the crank.

Although, pretty cool if it works...
I've used a blunt chisel to move the inner race outwards a tad , enough to get the proper puller in place for the pull.
That said , I've also used a Dremel cutter wheel to eat into said race ( stopping well short of the crank end face ) , to relieve tight pressures , then a heat gun on Max , localized to the inner cut race, to expand the cut race and it pulled off heartily by leather gloved hands. Just sayin', but you have it in a shop now.

weld two pieces of scrap steel to the inner race then whilst it is hot put your puller on so its grips the sacrificial steel
and pull it off

With the puller in the correct place , tightened and the inner race heated try (carefully) hitting both halves of the puller at the same time with two hammers, then see if the halves can be clamped any tighter. Even a little bit, then repeat the process until you have enough purchase to pull it off.
