I think I am going to replace the worn out points setup on my '69 "S" Is the Power Arc really worth double the price of the Pazon? Another thing I noticed was the warranty...7 years for the Pazon and only a year for the Power Arc.

I have a Pazon sure fire on my '75 Mark III and am happy with it.

Oh, boy...here we go. FWIW, I love the Pazon Surefire...Andy's system is 1st class...great customer service...instant replys to questions...7-year warranty...easy setup...set and forget...1-kick starting after weeks in the garage...rock-steady idle...great performance. Sheesh, I think if everyone on this site ran Pazon our discussions regarding EI Systems would simply disappear.

I had a feeling this would be like asking what oil is best  I just can't see how the Power Arc is worth twice the money with a fraction of the warranty.

I think I may be ordering another Pazon.

Can't complain about my SureFire. Now that I've got new anodized slides, it even idles better, that is at a more consistent rpm.

You'll need 2 - 6 volt coils if you're still using the 12 volt ones, but that will happen with any EI.

I got mine from MAP on FL with coils and new wires. Shipping may have been a bit faster, price was the same. One of the emgo coils failed in the meantime, no warranty on the coil.

It may well be worth the money for the guy that loves to tinker with his bike.

You know, that's not really a fair comparison. The Power Arc is an "all-in-one" unit like the Tri-Spark. It also includes a dual-fire coil, plugs and ignition wires. How about comparing a Pazon to a Boyer...... 8)

Very True...I hadn't thought about that.

think you answered this yourself

Buy the Pazon with 2 cheap coils and wires and it's over $200, and you have the crappy emgo coils. The PA from OB is $310 and has 2 switchable maps, rev limit and free? service from OB. I'd say it's a toss up. But I don't like having the electronics in the engine, just my take. Your mileage may vary.

Points are a dead end if one can't source and usable auto adv. unit or tedium machinist to restore them. I like the points best myself for a number of reasons, but long stability and ease to diagnosis ignition or mis fire faults. Pretty much stuck with new fangled sparkers for the long run. Boyer seems to be bottom of the barrel but still quite effective for most a long time. I think Pazion if best bang for the bux but like the Powerarc technology. I'm collecting AAU's but don't know if I'll ever get them rebuilt.

Every 3000 mile ain't even a full month of riding in the good seasons here, ugh, and requires tedium to get back in time again. Hm, about 1/2 that long since last AAU lost a weight pivot post but at least held on till I got to work to fail instead of side of hwy. An initial very bad batch of unstable AAU's in Combat was their initial downfall beating all the other weakness to death twice as fast. Lucas Rita was the early EI to replace points.

The wearing of slots in the bobweights from failure to grease regularly could be why so many British bikes were laid to rest early and ressurected in somewhat acceptable shape by new owners cheap in the late 70's.

Hmmm, over $200 then the Power Arc is looking very tempting. Rev limiter and different maps...Hmmm
