Guy who scramble's a tribsa with Norton Forks, he as a pair of early external LONG roadholders :!: To start with these" Biplane" landing gear units [have no damping]
So i suggested a commando set up...silly me!! well he rang me " John my "new" lansdowne's now only move 50mm when bouncing on the pegs.So after a chin wag with Paul the areo-batic Tridsa pilot i can now conclude the following;
Firsly the maths suggest the 60 year old spring ,aint right...steps back in horror!!! Paul and the great Gatsby have abit in common, both dare devil's :lol:
Point is. Last season the Great Paul during a race found a large OAK tree, the poor tree took a broad side, After recovering he thinks maby the wheel needs to be on the ground more.
For some strange reason the officials dont like Honda gas gas forks in pre 60 scrambles? But can these old norton forks deliver on the dirt, what did the old guys use?
Did they just adapt and break limbs on the way?
The stock Norton spring is a "fit's all" from 350 single - 850 commando ..was makes me smile is the New Triumph street scrambler 110 mm of fork travel...just keep it on the street!
